Creative Writing

The Creative Writing Working Group is a workshop for scholars who write creatively, primarily in fiction, alongside their research to sharpen their craft and have time to focus on creative projects. Our meetings make space for participants to reflect on how their work in the humanities strengthens and offers inroads to literary experimentation, and offers resources in fiction craft so its members can better engage as scholar-artists. Meetings consist of craft talks by guest speakers, peer workshops where members can share writing and offer feedback, and sessions for writing exercises and making progress on creative projects. This workshop is open to anyone in the Yale community who wishes to attend—faculty and students alike—and meets once a month during term.
