Marxism and Culture
Going on its 26th year, the Marxism & Culture working group meets every two weeks to discuss previously assigned readings on historical materialism, political economy, Marxism, and cultural theory more broadly. Texts are chosen collectively by attendants, and we tend to oscillate between classics and contemporary interventions in the field – readings in the past year have touched on Rosa Luxemburg, Alberto Toscano, and the relevance of the concept of the Lumpenproletariat.
Meetings have been held on Zoom since the onset of the pandemic, every other Tuesday at 7pm. All are welcome regardless of previous familiarity with Marxist scholarship.
