Nahuatl Working Group

The Nahuatl Working Group at Yale is dedicated to engaging with and learning from Indigenous communities both within and beyond the university. Our mission is to raise awareness about the Nahuatl language and its cultural significance through collaborative events, discussions, and initiatives. We work to foster meaningful connections between students, scholars, and Indigenous knowledge keepers, ensuring that our efforts support and amplify Indigenous voices. Through our programming, we aim to create a space for dialogue, learning, and community-building that honors and respects Nahua traditions. While continuously sharing and supporting avenues to study Nahuatl, the group takes an expansive approach to language learning that honors and recognizes the particularities of Indigenous worldviews, cosmovisions, and social positionings across borders.
