Old English

The Old English Reading Group will meet twice a month to translate and discuss texts composed in Old English. In previous years the Old English Reading Group has been attended by a variety of scholars at different levels of expertise: undergraduates concurrently learning the language; graduate students from a variety of medieval disciplines; and scholars practicing in this field and others. This setting allows students of the language to hone their skills in reading and research, and fosters community among scholars and readers across many fields and disciplines.

Meetings will center translation and interpretation of a pre-circulated text in Old English which will be chosen by the group. Readers of any level of Old English are welcome to attend.
