Overview
Working groups sponsored by the Whitney Humanities Center bring together faculty, graduate students, and other researchers from across the humanities at Yale. We provide annual funding to discipline-based and transdisciplinary working groups on a variety of topics, from cuneiform to sound studies to contemporary Brazil.
Each working group has an annual budget of $500 (intended primarily to provide refreshments for meetings), with the possibility of up to an additional $500 per year for nonfood expenses: local field trips, a modest honorarium for a speaker, books, etc.
Eligibility
We welcome proposals from humanities scholars, conceived broadly to include faculty, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, academic administrators, curators, and other researchers at Yale University. Scholars without research accounts are especially encouraged to apply.
How to apply
Proposals for new working groups for the 2023–24 academic year are due by May 5, 2023. Please send a brief description to Inessa Laskova.
