The Whitney Humanities Center at Yale welcomes applications for a one-year postdoctoral fellowship for 2024–25. This fellowship is designed to complement and enrich the Spring 2025 Franke Seminar in the Humanities: Architectures of Illness.
The Center invites applications from scholars in the medical and health humanities working in areas that may include design and biopolitics, the rise of the clinic and clinical spaces, technologies in medicine, the concept of care, and the intersection of architectural forms and healing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in film and/or literature.
The selected fellow will contribute to the Franke Lectures in the Humanities and will have some teaching responsibilities with the Franke Seminar in the Humanities (Spring 2025). This non-renewable fellowship is for ten months (August 1, 2024–May 31, 2025) and carries a stipend of $70,000 and full benefits. The Franke Postdoctoral Fellow will be in residence at the Whitney Humanities Center in New Haven for the full academic year 2024–25.
