Jesus Velasco

Jesús, Velasco teaches in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese and the Department of Comparative Literature. Before coming to Yale, he taught at other institutions like the University of Salamanca, UC Berkeley, and Columbia University. He is interested in medieval and early modern cultures in the Mediterranean, as well as in philology and law and their complex relationships. He has published books and articles on these subjects. He is currently finishing his Ph.D. dissertation at the École des hautes études en sciences sociales, with the title “Science de l’âme, corps du droit.”
