Ashleigh Cohen

Ashleigh Cohen joined the Whitney Humanities Center (WHC); the Humanities Program, The Yale Review; and Ethnicity, Race, and Migration (ER&M) as an Operations Manager in November 2023.

As an Operations Manager, Ashleigh is responsible for ensuring that faculty, students, and staff in her departments receive high-quality administrative and financial support in compliance with University policies and procedures. She oversees daily financial transactions and assesses operational challenges and opportunities, with a strong focus on streamlining processes and finding efficiencies. Ashleigh maintains effective communication with unit Chairs and Directors and promotes well-informed business decisions. Her commitment and dedication to her work ensure that WHC’s resources are allocated effectively, maximizing the impact of our programs and initiatives. In addition to these responsibilities, Ashleigh leads a team of seven C&T and one M&P, providing administrative oversight.

Before joining the Whitney Humanities Center, Ashleigh worked as the Classified Advertising and Office Manager at Yale Alumni Magazine. In her position, she supported the editorial staff, assisted in fundraising efforts, managed Classified and Yale Authors advertising in YAM, and performed other administrative and financial responsibilities. Prior to her tenure at Yale, Ashleigh was a member of the leadership team at IKEA New Haven where she recruited, trained, and developed a team of eleven members while monitoring her department budget and sales goals. During her thirteen-year employment, Ashleigh participated in an accelerated development program that involved traveling to other store locations as a national trainer for new system rollouts in addition to mentoring new managers and lead co-workers looking to advance their careers within IKEA.
