Franke Visiting Fellow Rozina Ali in The New York Times Magazine

March 11, 2024

Franke Visiting Fellow Rozina Ali recently wrote about three friends, Kinnan, Hisham, and Tahseen, who grew up in the West Bank and were shot in Vermont. The article Raised in the West Bank, Shot in Vermont, published in The New York Times Magazine on February 28, explores their experiences grappling with Palestinian identity in America, their physical recovery, and their reflections on privilege, guilt, and survival in the context of the ongoing conflict in Palestine.

Rozina Ali, our Spring 2024 Franke Visiting Fellow, is currently in residence at the Whitney Humanities Center, working on a book about the recent history of Islamophobia in the United States.
