Adina Popescu is Executive Editor for history at Yale University Press. At Yale she has published books centered on American history, including Lisa Brooks’ Our Beloved Kin, William Thomas’ A Question of Freedom, Pekka Hämäläinen’s Lakota America, Paul Kennedy’s Victory at Sea, Ned Blackhawk’s The Rediscovery of America, and David Blight’s Yale and Slavery. Her books have been awarded over 70 prizes including the Bancroft Prize, the National Book Award in Nonfiction, the Mark Lynton History Prize, the George Washington Prize, the Frederick Douglass Prize, and best books of the year from the New Yorker, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, Publishers’ Weekly, and Publishers Marketplace, among others. She has previously worked at HarperCollins, Basic Books, Cambridge University Press, and Oxford University press and holds a Ph.D. in American history from Columbia University and a B.A. in Literature from Yale University.
