Playwright Helen Edmundson in conversation with Lawrence Manley
Professor Lawrence Manley and Helen Edmundson discuss writing the modern history play in the context of both present-day theater and the history of the history play itself. Helen Edmundson has written several plays based on historical figures and incidents, including Queen Anne, Sor Juana Inez de la Cruz, and Oliver Cromwell’s ethnic cleansing of Ireland in the 17th century.
