Christopher Kendrick is Professor of English Literature at Loyola University Chicago. He has published two books, Milton: A Study in Ideology and Form (Routledge, 1986) and Utopia, Carnival, and Commonwealth in Renaissance England (University of Toronto Press, 2004), and several essays, including “The Imperial Laboratory: Discovering Forms in The New Atlantis” (2003) and “Monster Realism and Uneven Development in China Mieville’s The Scar” (2009).
